It was engraved by G. H. Swanston and published by A. Fullarton & Co. Rather unusually, the world is presented as double hemispheres rather than the Mercator projection. The world map is surrounded by gorgeous details, such as illustrations of the world's major river systems (Amazon, Volga, Danube, Mississippi Missouri, etc) and also a side on view of the world's largest
